Gas South Names 2025 Impact Investment Finalists

Six Nonprofits Compete for $100K

6/3/2025

ATLANTA, Ga. (June 3, 2025) - Gas South’s eighth year of awarding up to $100,000 to two nonprofits is underway with six finalists from more than 390 applications ready for reveal.

Gas South’s Impact Investment Awards provide funding to nonprofits focusing on childhood basic needs, healthcare and education based on community votes.

“This is a crucial time to provide nonprofits with necessary funds as they see donations dwindle and federal grants either gone or hanging in the balance,” said Carley Stephens, Gas South’s Director of Corporate Giving. “We know this grant will help make significant community impacts in Atlanta Metro and beyond – no matter who wins the community vote.”

Customers can vote for two of the six finalists beginning June 17, with the two organizations receiving the most votes each awarded up to $100,000:

Education

  • Noble Truth Project offers entrepreneurial coaching and mentorship to young men in Atlanta between 14 and 24 years old. The project was created to give a viable solution to young men trying to start a business following the Water Boys’ experience.
  • VOX Teen Communications is a teen-run news outlet meant to help youth better understand journalism, news, civic engagement and ultimately literacy.

Basic Needs

  • Alachua Habitat for Humanity builds homes for families in need, and these funds would allow them to build five new homes.
  • Tyme to Thrive Beyond Grief provides mental health support for families and individuals who are gun-violence survivors. The award would expand community education programming and assist families with funeral expenses.

Illness/Disability

  • Friends of Disabled Adults and Children provides low or no-cost refurbished home medical equipment for people with disabilities – eliminating a typically significant financial burden for families. They provide 475 pieces of home medical equipment, like wheelchairs.
  • Lekotek of Georgia provides accessible play services to children with a wide range of physical, mental and emotional different abilities. They also adapt toys to foster inclusive, productive play for all children.
