Getting help with your natural gas bill

At Gas South, we understand the uncertainty and financial challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. If you need help paying your bill, please log in to your online account to request a payment plan, or visit GasSouth.com/pay to view our payment options. 

Additionally, there are other resources available through our partner organizations and agencies, such as the United Way of Greater Atlanta, the Heating Energy Assistance Team (HEAT) and the Salvation Army, that may be able to provide you with additional financial assistance. Each of these groups have unique eligibility requirements, such as proof of income, identification and recent natural gas bills. Even if you’ve never qualified before, you may now be eligible for assistance.

Hold on service disconnection for non-payment discontinued

In early 2020, the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) suspended Atlanta Gas Light’s (AGL) natural gas service disconnections for non-payment in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial burden it created. Later that year on July 1, the PSC voted to lift that suspension. There’s been no change in that decision since then, and AGL has continued to move forward with scheduling disconnections for non-payment. We’ve made sure to keep customers informed of their account status to help prevent late fees and service disconnections.

What we're doing as a company

Along with working with the Georgia PSC and AGL to assist customers during the hold on service disconnections during much of 2020, we worked hard to ensure the safety of our employees and to help the community as much as possible.  
 
Employees were set up to work remotely so we could continue providing the excellent service Gas South customers have come to expect without interruption to their supply of natural gasIn the community, we gave more than $1 million in 2020 to priority non-profit partners that offered services to help alleviate the strain of COVID-19. These partners include the Atlanta Community Food BankHEAT, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta and the United Way of Greater Atlanta.
