The Public Service Commission votes to resume disconnections for non-payment on July 1, 2020
Earlier this year in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Atlanta Gas light (AGL) voluntarily suspended service disconnections for non-payment. The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) has voted to lift this suspension. AGL will be resuming the scheduling of disconnections for non-payment beginning July 1, 2020.
We will continue to send you notifications for your account status. We also notify you if your account is eligible for disconnection, and to remind you to make a payment to avoid interruption in your service. If your account goes unpaid beyond July 1, you will subject for disconnection by AGL.

Our continued cooperation with the Public Service Commission to support our customers
In response to the continued uncertainty from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Georgia Public Service Commission has voted to extend the moratorium of disconnections for non-payment until further notice. Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) will therefore not be disconnecting customers for non-payment until further notice. AGL will continue to complete disconnects by customer request. Gas South customers will continue to receive communication notifications providing existing account balance information, late fees, disconnection updates, as well as information on resources that are available for financial assistance. If you need help paying your bill, we encourage you to log in to your online account to request a pay plan, or contact our Care Center so that we can understand your situation. There are also other resources available through our partner organizations and agencies. Even if you’ve never qualified before, you may now be eligible. If you are experiencing financial hardship and cannot pay your bill, there are organizations that may be able to provide you with assistance, and many have funding set aside specifically for COVID-19. Each agency has unique eligibility requirements (ie: proof of income, identification and recent home heating bills). Even if you’ve never qualified before, you may now be eligible.
