At Gas South, our purpose is to Be a Fuel for Good. We are proud to have not only demonstrated this through our promise to give 5% of our profits to children in need but also through our employee commitment to actively serve in our community. Our contributions mean more than just a corporate check; it’s a corporate check with an army of volunteers behind it.
We enjoy putting our purpose into action every month from volunteer events in and around Atlanta, to donation pick-ups at our building, to many of our employees serving as non-profit board members. We are proud to highlight our commitment over the years that has made an impact in our community in honor of National Volunteer Week.
Here are a few examples of the ways we’ve been putting our time, talent and financial contributions into action since 2019:
2020 Volunteer Efforts:
- 490 hours logged throughout the year.
- 450 food kits assembled for children and families facing food insecurity.
- 27 nonprofit organizations benefitted from Gas South’s volunteerism.
- All 10 departments were represented.
2019 Volunteer Efforts:
- Over 1100 hours logged throughout the year.
- Dental care provided for 800 elementary school students.
- Education for over 100 students at the YMCA Gas South STEAM Lab.
- Gas South employees participated at 23 volunteer events.

We are also proud to have several of our employees who understand the importance of taking it a step further to serve on non-profit boards for organizations in our community.

Gas South believes in providing employees support and opportunity to learn valuable skills, increase networking opportunities and discover a sense of purpose through serving. We are incredibly proud of our employees, leadership and partners for working every day to make a difference in our communities and in people’s lives.
